Super Exciting News!!!!!

Hello & Happy, Happy Monday Everyone!
How was your weekend? Mine was spent cleaning out
some closets! UGH! LOL I use to own a Thrift Store,
so when I moved, I kept some items for re-sale...
The only problem was... I never took the time to
go through them to re-sell them! So.... I made
sure to do it this weekend.... My sweet son was kind enough
to help his Mom out... Of course I spent a lot of time
looking up the info on some of the items I wanted to sell...
Which, as you can imagine was TIME CONSUMING!!

Needless to say... the closets are not fully done, but I did
get a good chunk cleared out ... Some of it is going to the
local Thrift Store today! YAY... Other stuff needs photo's taken
and descriptions, so I can get them sold & out of the house!

I've been trying to de-clutter my house for the past year...
I think I've come a long way and feel better knowing I don't have
so much crap just lying around not getting used.... Including
Craft stuff.... I really feel better having that de-cluttered as well....

Any who.. I'm soooo SUPER EXCITED!!! Do you want to know WHY????
I'm going on VACATION THIS WEEK!!! EEK!!!
We are going to HAWAII!!! OMGOSH!!
This has ALWAYS been a dream of mine.... And
it's actually happening! AND... I get to see my MARINE!!! OMGOSH!

I actually had planned on taking a cruise to Hawaii this
year for my 25th Wedding Anniversary in October.... But.....
My son was so generous this past Christmas, that he offered
to pay for us to fly out and visit him for a week! I was in SHOCK
& Told him he didn't have to do this.. He knew we had limited funds..
Hubby is disabled and we live on a very simple income.... I went back
to work part time, for extra funds which would have paid for our cruise....
I was making payments on it.... but my son was very insistent that HE PAY for it....
So, I reluctantly agreed to let him do this....
But I'm so thrilled to be going & I get to spend a Week
with him too!!!

This is our last visit with him for awhile, since he will be leaving again
for more training & another deployment... So, we will make the most out of our
trip... We'll be staying at a place that has a kitchen/living area right
on the BEACH! So, I told him, I would cook for him while we're there...
He says to me... MOM... Your not suppose to COOK while on vacation!!

I laughed at him and said... well... I'm doing it for you, since we
both know he won't be getting any home cooked meals for awhile...
I LOVE that boy more than anything.... He's kind & Generous &
serving our country well! Of course I adore ALL my boys.... they are
all amazing & I'm just so proud to be their Mother! UGH....
I might get mushy here... Sorry about that!

Anyway... I just wanted to let you guys know... I won't be
around for a couple of weeks as we get ready to leave
in the next few days..... And I won't be using any social networks
if I can avoid it! I'm gonna POP over to your blogs today, and
check out anything I've missed the last few days... And
I will get back to blogging once I return...
I do have 2 scheduled Design Team posts.. but that's it for now...
I didn't even make any Holiday cards this past week....
But I figure I can let it slide this time, due to this exciting trip!

I will MISS YOU guys dearly while I'm away and
probably have LOTS to tell ya when I get back!
Tanya had said to take LOTS of Pictures....
Not to worry... I WILL... I have a camera and my son has a
GoPro Camera.... so I'm pretty sure we can capture a lot of stuff
while we are out & about exploring the Island!!!

Thanks for always stopping by!
See you in a few weeks!

Big Hugs!!

Double Take Flag...

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
Today's my day to take over the blog at:
YAY for me... I'm so excited to share a wonderful
Fourth of July card with you!

As many of you know... my son is in the Marines,
and anytime I can send him well wishes I do! I thought this
Fantastic Double Take Flag Stamp would be fitting!
It is a Large stamp, and the stars are separate from the stripes,
which made it easy to stamp in the colors I wanted!
I also like that the stamp has a vintage/distress design
which I thought was pretty neat - 😊
The Sentiment is computer generated & I printed it out
on Vellum paper... then die cut it out with a banner die.

** Other Supplies Used **

Cardstock - Stampin' Up, Recollections, Vellum
Flag Stamp - Victorine Originals (Double Take Flag)
Distress Oxides - Broken China, Faded Jeans,
Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick

Nautical Home decor...

Hello & Happy Wednesday Everyone!
I'm so excited to share this Home Decor
project I created using some wonderful
products I received from Oriental Trading!!

As most of you know... I like to make wood projects
along with cards... and It's been awhile since I shared a
home decor piece with you...

In a couple of weeks we're having a FUN Barbecue and
I wanted to create a Center piece for my table...

This is what I did, to create a sweet
Nautical Themed Display --

I started out with an Unfinished Wood Planter Box & some
assorted Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints

I decided to start with the red paint...

Here's the after picture... looks good so far! 😊

I then wanted to added some Nautical Themed Scrapbook paper
and to my surprise, Oriental Trading had some. It was
a really good heavy weight paper! Which I love to use on wood projects!

I used some Mod Podge to attach my paper to the wood, then I sanded the edges down
to give it a nice finish! I let this sit off to the side while I worked on the next stage...

I created a bunch of Rosettes using my Tim Holtz rosette dies & my Big shot
along with the same nautical papers
I attached them to some Red Polka Dot Straws with some Hot glue.

Once I got all my Rosettes done, I wanted to dress up
a couple of Tall Jars, so I could place some Candles
& some Sea Shells inside for a little ambience...
I added a little more of that wonderful Nautical themed
Scrapbook paper along with a little burlap to tie it all together.

I then finished dressing up my Planter box,
with some beautiful Royal & White Satin Ribbon
which worked perfectly with the scrapbook papers....
I created a banner bow & added an Anchor from
the punch outs that came with the Nautical Paper pack
I adhered it to the box with some hot glue...

This is the Completed look! I LOOVE the way it turned out...
I did use a piece of Long Styrofoam & painted it
using the Navy Blue Acrylic Paint... Pushed that inside my
planter box, then pushed the rosettes through the styrofoam
so they'd stay put and added some sea shells on top of it
to complete the look!

My Candles fit inside the Tall Jars perfectly... they're sitting on top
of the Sea shells... And the glow is just perfect!!!

Thanks for Checking out my Nautical Centerpiece!
Have a Fabulous Day!!!

Theresa

Spectacular Shakers

On this project I used a new method I've seen
Jennifer McGuire do using Tulle...

I honestly think this Shaker card is adorable! AND Super easy to make!
It's actually pretty flat.. which would be great sending through the mail....
But most of you know... I make cards for the Teachers at School...
So someone will probably have a smile on their face when they get this!
I cut 2 pieces of Tulle in Blue to sandwich between the circle... And added
matching Sequins colors like green, yellow, blue, & orange...
The adorable little image was colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers

Here's the link to Jennifer's Video, in case you want to take a look -

Sensational Sliders

Okay.. Now this little guy is WAY TOO CUTE!!!
I've actually had this adorable Turtle colored
for MONTHS! And I've been wanting to get it on a card...
So why not as a Slider? After watching several different videos
on how to make a slider.. I decided to go with this design..
And I thought the Pretty papers from My Favorite Things (Sweet Celebration)
paper pack went perfectly with my adorable turtle!

I just wanted to show that YES it does slide! LOL
I was a bit worried about it not sliding... but it does.... (Thank Goodness)
And I think I might be trying my hand at this design again...
I found the Slider SVG File in my Silhouette Program
It's File (#61616) and apparently I have "Other"
Slider designs in there too! I have so many files, that I don't even
know what I own! Geesh! (Smacks self in forehead!) OUCH!

Camp Create Week BONUS!!

Hello & Welcome to post #2 for today!!
I'm sharing some of my projects that I made for

This is a BONUS Challenge - Dry Embossing

I think this one is neat..... Don't know if I'll try it again.... 😉
You were to use a die and use it like you would an embossing folder....

So I took a Fairy Die I had and a piece of White CS and put it
through my Big Shot... It was cool to see the die leave the
impression & not cut through... after that... I picked out some
distress inks & used my clarity brushes to give my image some color....
I wanted it to be soft & light -- I added some Sparkle shimmer
Spritz & then die cut it out with a scallop die... I wanted
my sentiment to be bold but not to overwhelming so I
put it on some vellum, heat embossing it in ebony black...
Added some lovely sequins & gems and I think it's ready to
be mailed to a crafty friend! 😊

** Supplies Used on this card **

Cardstock - Recollections 110lb, Vellum, Fun Foam
Stitched Rectangle Die - My Favorite Things
Scallop Die - CDD
Fairy Die - Ebay
Sentiment - My Favorite Things (Tickled Pink)
Distress Inks - Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry
Ranger Round Blending Tool, Clarity Brushes, Versamark Ink,
Static Powder tool, Misti, Big Shot, Heat Gun
Sequins - My Stash
Clear Bitty Adhesive Gems - CTMH
WOW! Primary Ebony Embossing Powder
